Briefleaf Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-23

Briefleaf keeps your documents and snippets in your own browser. Accounts are optional, and we have no analytics and no ads. Data leaves your browser only when you use an AI feature or sign in.

Data stored on your device

The text and images you save, their source page titles and URLs, your documents and settings are stored in Chrome’s local extension storage on your computer. We cannot see them. Removing the extension deletes them.

Data sent to our server

Payments

Purchases happen on Lemon Squeezy’s checkout page, which is the merchant of record. Briefleaf never sees your card details. Lemon Squeezy notifies our server about the subscription status (active, renewed, cancelled) and the email used at checkout. See Lemon Squeezy’s privacy policy.

Website access

Briefleaf reads a page only when you add a selection or an image. The optional access to all sites, if you grant it, is used only to scroll to and highlight a saved passage when you open its source.

What we do not do

We do not sell or share your data, do not track your browsing, and do not use your data for advertising or credit decisions. Briefleaf complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
