Terms of Service
In short: Briefleaf is free to use, Pro is a monthly subscription you can cancel anytime through Lemon Squeezy, AI has monthly limits, and you are responsible for the content you collect and share.
1. About these terms
Briefleaf is a Chrome extension made by Tabwright (“we”, “us”). By installing or using Briefleaf you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
2. The service
Briefleaf lets you collect text and images from web pages and turn them into presentations, cheat sheets, study notes and flashcards. There is a free plan and a paid Pro plan. We may add, change or remove features, designs and limits over time. The current plans and limits are described on this website and in the extension.
3. Accounts
You can use the basic features without an account. AI features and Pro require signing in with Google. You are responsible for keeping access to your Google account secure.
4. Pro subscription
- Pro is a subscription sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record and processes your payment.
- The price and billing period are shown at checkout before you pay. Taxes may apply depending on your country.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel it.
- You can cancel anytime using the link in your receipt email or on your Lemon Squeezy orders page. After cancelling, Pro stays active until the end of the period you already paid for.
- If we change the price, we will tell you in advance, and the new price will apply from your next billing period.
5. Refunds
Refunds are handled by Lemon Squeezy under its refund policy and the consumer laws that apply to you. If something went wrong with a payment, write to us and we will help.
6. AI features and limits
- AI runs are limited: 3 per month on the free plan; 150 per month and up to 40 per day on Pro. Limits reset every month, and the daily limit every day.
- AI results can contain mistakes. Check them before you rely on them, submit them or present them.
- We may limit or suspend AI access if it is used in a way that harms the service, for example automated requests or attempts to get around the limits.
7. Your content
Your snippets, documents and the files you create are yours. We do not claim any rights to them. You are responsible for having the right to use the material you collect, for respecting copyright and for citing your sources where needed.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use Briefleaf to break the law, to infringe other people’s rights, to interfere with the service or our servers, or to resell or share access to the AI features.
9. Availability and backups
We work to keep Briefleaf running well, but we provide it “as is” and cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. Your documents are stored in your browser, and removing the extension deletes them, so keep a backup file of anything important.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Briefleaf. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for Briefleaf in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.
11. Ending use
You can stop using Briefleaf at any time by removing the extension and, if you have Pro, cancelling the subscription. We may suspend AI or Pro access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will announce it on this website or in the extension.
